Влияние изменения дохода потребителя на величину спроса:
Если определенное изменение дохода приводит к относительно большему изменению величины спроса, то спрос является эластичным; если данное изменение дохода вызывает относительно меньшее изменение величины спроса - спрос неэластичен. Коэффициент эластичности является положительной величиной для нормальных продуктов (см. Normal product) и отрицательной - для продуктов низкого качества (см. Inferior product). Так, например, дешевые продукты питания и одежда имеют коэффициент эластичности ниже единицы, а предметы роскоши - выше единицы. Потребители, как правило, покупают меньше дешевых товаров по мере увеличения своих доходов. См. Engel’s law, Income effect, Income-consumption curve, Demand curve.
